**The tiny fixes that quietly reshape a platform.**

Early-stage building is funny.
You think you're fixing a "small thing"
and suddenly you're rethinking half the platform.

## **Why fixing login mattered for anyone trying to find creators online**

For weeks, our landing page looked great.
Clean. friendly. welcoming.
Perfect for someone discovering Mela for the first time.

But not so perfect for a brand trying to actually... do things.

If a brand wanted to create a project or book a call,
we made them fill an entire intake form,
get comfortable,
and _then_ asked them to log in.

Basically:
"Come on in.
Sit down.
Relax.
Actually wait. go register first."

[Amith](https://www.linkedin.com/in/amithlakshmisha/) finally asked the obvious question:
**Why are we making people work before they log in?**

So we changed it.
Login and signup moved right to the landing page.
Open [Mela](http://visitmela.com/) -> log in -> do your thing.

Cleaner analytics.
Smoother onboarding.
Less friction.
More sanity.

Sometimes improving a platform isn't about adding a feature.
It's about removing the hoops no one should jump through.

## **How a small UX change helps brands find good designers, copywriters, editors, and motion artists faster**

The new flow will remove all the back-and-forth.
Soon brands can log in. explore talent. create projects.
Freelancers can set up profiles without being ambushed mid-process.

And when you're trying to **find good designers, copywriters, editors, motion artists**, every second of smoothness matters.

## **Why semantic search can wait. and why real freelancers need stability first**

Meanwhile, [Rushabh](https://www.linkedin.com/in/rushabh-joshi27/) had to make a tough call.
Semantic search is exciting.
It'll make finding the right creators online even easier.
But excitement isn't priority.

Stability is.

We needed the platform functional enough
to onboard real projects
and get real feedback.

You can't build powerful search
if the foundation is still shifting.

## **Why agencies want Mela to become their creative infrastructure,**

We also got an interesting ask:
Agencies wanting Mela to support their internal workflows.
Basically, turn Mela into their creative operations backbone.

Huge potential.
But it needs nuance, not speed.
And nuance needs development time we shouldn't burn right now.

We'll get there.
But not at the cost of the core product.

## **You can't vet collaborativeness. Here's the hard truth most platforms avoid**

Another reality surfaced during vetting.

You can judge skill.
You can judge ability.
But you _cannot_ judge communication quality
until someone actually works on a project.

Unless you become a "Creatives-as-a-Service" agency
and control the entire workflow.
Which Mela has little to no interest in becoming.

## **Unpublished: the award that finally recognises pure creativity without client filters**

And while all this was happening,
[I](http://www.linkedin.com/in/sakarmishra) have been quietly preparing something creators actually need.

[**Unpublished.**](https://visitmela.com/unpublished)

An award for the ideas that died early.
Not because they weren't good.
But because someone somewhere got scared.

Writers. designers. editors. motion artists. thinkers.
Get ready.

Your best work is about to get its moment.

No brand filters.
No committees.
No approvals.
Just creativity.

## **How small UX fixes improve the journey for brands searching for great creative talent**

A login rethink.
A prioritisation reset.
A creator-first award.

Tiny moves.
Big impact.

This is what building Mela looks like right now,
small, honest improvements
that make it easier for brands to find creators
and for creators to finally be seen for their real work.

Chapter 2.
Done.
Messy.
Useful.
And one step closer to the platform we want Mela to be.
